Hayley & Nick
Smiles are simply one of my favourite things in the world, and as a UK wedding photographer, I have learned to enjoy them even more, as I get to register smiles on such a unique, significant day of a couple’s life. On Hayley and Nick’s Old Kent Barn wedding photography, I not only lavished on the many smiles that the couple shared but how the whole family, the bridal party and the guests were all obviously delighted for the two of them.
Hayley and Nick are a warm and sweet couple that so clearly wanted to share their joy with those they love. They've met through friends and dated for 5 years before became engaged. They decided to get married within the next 12 months as they wanted to start trying for a family as soon as possible. Nicks proposal plans changed a couple of times due to lock down restriction. They planned a wonderfully special day for their family and friends, in one of the most romantic barns to get married in the UK. The happiness of their family seeing them getting married was just contagious, and I am so glad we could capture every expression of delight in their Old Kent Barn wedding video.
All flowers and beauty
It seems to me that everything was singing for joy on that day, all offering their very best on Hayley and Nick’s day. The tulips were bright and pink, the sun was shining, and the grass smelled so fresh and alive: all colours of Spring were showing themselves that day, resulting in some Light and Airy Old Kent Barn wedding photography.
The venue
The black barn, the white gazebo and all the green that surrounded us made this a wonderful background for Hayley and Nick’s wedding day. The contrast of black and white is so striking, and it looks absolutely gorgeous in their Old Kent Barn wedding video. I love the tunnel of greenery that leads the way from the Barn to the ceremony space, so magical with its fairy lights. The natural beauty of this space was what enchanted the bride and groom, and made them choose the space to get married. I'm sure Spring is one of the best seasons to be able to take very romantic barn wedding photography at Old Kent Barn!
The new barn
The Old Kent's Barn "New Barn" is a charming space, all symmetrical and full of wonderful natural light - a dream indoor space for any photographer! The decoration was elegant and romantic, using lots of white and soft pink roses, tealights, and touches of gold, creating a magical atmosphere in one of the most romantic barns to get married in the UK.
The Groom
Nick got ready in one of Old Barn's dressing room. The weather was lovely and the flowers outside were stunning, and I'm grateful we've had the chance to do Nick's getting ready outdoors.
The Bride
Hayley got ready in the spacious and comfortable Old Kent Barn Bridal suite. She had spent some special moments with her mother, and after that, the bridesmaids joined them. Hayley chose a very graceful gown, with a beautiful low back and a wonderful lace-trimmed train. She looked naturally pretty with her hair softly up and very delicate make-up.
A lovely surprise
When all the ladies were ready, just before walking down the aisle, Hayley shared with them all that she was pregnant! What a beautiful moment to witness! I am glad we could register all the surprised faces, all the tears, and the many affectionate hugs in their Old Kent Barn wedding photography. The love of those women for their friends and the joy they shared in hearing about the baby was really moving!
A special moment of Father and Daughter
Just before walking down the aisle, Hayley had a sweet first look with her dad in the airy Bridal Suite. He looked so proud of his daughter, and their joy for everything that day meant for them was simply contagious. They both then walked down the aisle, where there were met halfway by Hayley’s grandfather. Hayley said, “My grandad joined my dad to give me away, this was so important and special to me.”
When love overflows
It was so lovely to see how these two lovebirds looking at each other with so much love during the ceremony.

Now it's official
After the ceremony, the guest enjoyed drinks and relaxing music played by a saxophonist, while we register the bride, groom, family and bridal party in the stunning grounds of one the most romantic barns to get married in the UK. All the green and colours of Spring were just beautiful in contrast with the navy and soft pink of the colour palette that Hayley and Nick picked for their decoration, allowing us to take really romantic barn wedding photography.
When the bride and groom entered the New Barn, all guests cheering for the new couple, Nick grabbed the mic and so happily announced to everyone present that their baby that was on the way! The loud applause filled the air, with shouts of surprise and joy for the new family they were starting. How lovely that they decided to let everyone know of their baby on the day of their wedding, how sweet that it made the day extra special.
It all continued to be smiles and joy as the evening progressed, as hugs were shared and conversation and laughter rolled. The atmosphere was so beautiful and light as everyone got to enjoy each other. We closed the evening with some fun and lots of sparkles, registering Hayley and Nick walking out of the barn. It was a wonderful day, that we could take some romantic barn wedding photography and register a really lovely couple say yes to each other. It was a day that made me smile too and those are the best kind of working days!
